Tyler Koepf’s singular fascination since childhood is the study of money and finance. Regardless of who you are, what you do, or where you live, it is one of our few shared experiences. Money ultimately impacts our ability to spend time with family, how we help our communities, and whether we pursue our dreams.
This passion drew Tyler to an education in Accounting, Finance, and Law followed by a successful consulting career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago before being hired by a senior executive of a client. After UnitedHealth Group (UHG) acquired the client, Tyler was moved to the global headquarters in Minnesota to work directly with its senior leaders. He was one of the youngest directors to complete UHG’s executive leadership program at Stanford University in addition to managing a broad portfolio of initiatives that included mergers and acquisitions, operational integrations, financial projections and modeling, and international tax issues.
After moving back to his hometown of Chagrin Falls, Tyler sought an opportunity to use his education and experience to make the financial lives of families and small businesses easier. He partnered with a college friend and the founder of V Financial Partners, an Aurora based firm operating through New York Life's insurance and investment infrastructure. The partnership gave Tyler a space to learn the industry landscape, common pain-points clients experience, and a initial prospective on how to best serve those he worked with. This knowledge and experience was the springboard Tyler needed to launch M. Thomas Capital Management in September 2021.
Tyler Koepf graduated from Ohio University with a double major in Finance and Accounting. He completed the Ohio Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam before attending Cleveland Marshall College of Law and passing the Ohio Bar exam.
Tyler lives in Chagrin Falls with his son, Mason, and two dogs, Cody and Denver.
